Farewell to the sun

sunlight is getting rarer these days, soon we'll have winter solstice - the longest night of the year! but remember: after that day, days are getting longer again ;)))

this was in ancient days called "Yule"

In ancient days the folk of old
When chilled with fright by winter's cold
Did kindle up a great Yule fire
With leaping flames in its great pyre;
So to entice the waning sun
To rise again and wider run;
It's fiery course across the sky,
To warm them so they would not die.

So we, whose minds now sense a chill
Of anger in the evil will,
The human conflict, hate, and strife,
Which hold a menace over life;
Would kindle up a flame of love
That we within our hearts may move,
In Yuletide joy, with love embrace
And thus abide in peace and grace.

Hip-hey, is already time for x-mas cookies again! - the only thing that makes me bear christmas...
Anyway, this year i found that making cookies can be fun.

...just grab yourself a dear person, drink some tea or whatever...

...have fun - and enjoy yummie cookies, especially when they're still warm! hmmmm! ^0^

Love

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

For we know in part and we prophesy in part,

but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.

Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
(Corinthians 13:1-13)

Stefan, I love you!

Time for celebration

Well, i have to say it: 25 years is a hell of a long time *ggg* a quarter century, just imagine! yes, and to come to the subject, it's ME who just lived to become that old! i mean, if i was a company, i would have organised a great party and been very proud of existing that long. but since i'm just a girl (yes, still!), i actually keep pondering, what i have made of these 25 years and if this could be a significant turning point in my life... but since i have a couple of really good friends, i decided to not brood anymore but have a beer instead... =^+^=

Thanks again to all my dear friends for being ones (and for coming of course) and most of all to my love Stefan, who organised all this and invited everyone! it was a great funny evening! thanks folks, i love you all ;))

hiking is my own delight

last week we had a day off - due to national holiday - and guess what i did? right, i got up early in the morning to go hiking. for only the early worm catches the fish and in our case, is on the sunny side of the mountain.
first we were all optimistic and motivated for a hiking tour:
then we saw that the road was not so easy to travel:

and since i am ABSOLUTELY not used to hiking, this was not actually a walkabout but on top of the mountain we were rewarded with this great panorama:

in the end we were all lucky to have made this tour - especially ME of course... O;D

nine million bicycles

There are nine million bicycles in Beijing
That's a fact,

It's a thing we can't deny
Like the fact that I will love you till I die.

There are six billion people in the world
More or less
and it makes me feel quite small
But you're the one I love the most of all

New semestre, new luck

so these days semestre starts for us here at innsbruck university and along comes the season of fall. let's see if i'm one of the lucky ones who will be able to do all the planned courses - and as far as psychologie courses are concerned, completing one's degree seems like gambling...

Berlin, Berlin

once upon a time there were some students of european ethnology (cultural anthropology) travelling to berlin city... (warning: this time there'll be loads of photos!)

they had a pretty good time exploring Berlin City:

(at the IMAX-cinema)

made new friends...

(robot at the telecommunication-museum)

saw so many different things:

(variety of donuts at Dunkin' Donuts - yummie!)

(right in front of the Reichstag)

(graffiti)

(somewhere in Kreuzberg)

(the sky above a "Plattenbau"/building made with precast concrete slabs)

but after staying 10 days in this buzzing city, they felt like having a good coffee and a rest

...and so they travelled back to Austria where they are living now happy ever after =^+^=
