Juni

Die Zeit geht mit der Zeit: Sie fliegt.
Kaum schrieb man sechs Gedichte,
ist schon ein halbes Jahr herum
und fühlt sich als Geschichte.

Die Kirschen werden reif und rot,
die süßen wie die sauren.
Auf zartes Laub fällt Staub, fällt Staub,
so sehr wir es bedauern.

Aus Gras wird Heu. Aus Obst Kompott.
Aus Herrlichkeit wird Nahrung.
Aus manchem, was das Herz erfuhr,
wird, bestenfalls, Erfahrung.

Es wird und war. Es war und wird.
Aus Kälbern werden Rinder
Und weil's zur Jahreszeit gehört,
aus Küssen kleine Kinder.

Die Vögel füttern ihre Brut
und singen nur noch selten.
So ist's bestellt in unsrer Welt,
der besten aller Welten.

Spät tritt der Abend in den Park,
mit Sternen auf der Weste.
Glühwürmchen ziehn mit Lampions
zu einem Gartenfeste.

Dort wird getrunken und gelacht.
In vorgerückter Stunde
tanzt dann der Abend mit der Nacht
die kurze Ehrenrunde.

Am letzten Tische streiten sich
ein Heide und ein Frommer,
ob's Wunder oder keine gibt.
Und nächstens wird es Sommer.

My lefthand life

When i was a very small kid, my mummy used to tell me not to always do things with my left hand, but to use my right one instead. I remember that i suggested to "call my left hand the right one".
Well, it seems when reflecting this desultory piece of memory that i'm a relearned leftie nowadays and so i got a very special relationship with my left hand. It is actually the one that is mostly injured (could be due to now lack of skillfulness)

Anyway, i just wanted to tell a tale of my injured left hand, which is to be exact sprained.
Last weekend, i went hiking in the tyrolean mountain (yes, i know already, what you want to say: "of course, a lowland indian like you can only come back from hiking injured - if not dead"). Well, it was a fine day all in all...

The thing is that i noticed when arrived at home, that i caught a nasty sunburn (even if i greased myself with sunoil!) . But several days after this trip i found that my left hand was swollen and hurting. In fact, i had a little downfall on boulder and landed - yes, on my left hand. It actually didn't hurt until then, so i didn't bother about it. But then it suddenly became worse and didn't allow me to ride my bike anymore (which is WORST case scenario!).
So i went to my doc, who sent me straight to x-ray (i got now very cool x-rays of my left hand =^+^=) to see if something is broken.
Of course it wasn't - as i have never broken anything in my whole life - and i have to wear now a dressy bandage with curd cheese inside (homespun remedy ;))

Yeah, you never know why you have two hands, until you lose one of them (even if only temporarily)! And i can only recomend you to be careful when hiking on unknown terrain and when opening a beer with one hand - it always looks easier than it is!

Cheers, Ingrid

Summer in the city

Summer in the city means: it's awfully hot and muggy in town - how i loath being in town in that time being unable to go bathing or in the country in some other way...!
But there's one thing you can always do in Innsbruck to flee from the heat, it's going to the river Inn and take a (cold, lush cold!!!) bath, hmmmm!

By that way i should get some colour on my skin anyway... - no more being snowy-pale, urghhh!

Reunion of the glorious 4

Studying at university is very much different to studying in school. One thing is that you can chose your timetable by yourself more or even less. The other thing is that you don't stay so close in touch to your peer-students than you do at school cuz you don't see them regularly.
This fact is also true for me and my three mates Conny, Doris and Petra and so we thought about a meeting for dinner.
We went to the Running-Sushi in Innsbruck, which promised to bear plenty of palate-treats ;)

Petra brought her daughter along and Doris brought her boyfriend Martin and i brought my lovely Stefan as well.

And after we were all stuffed and happy we posed for a photo *Cheeeeese*

...I think we should do that again some time!

Where is my cat?

Last time i visited my Dad at his home, he was already busy with renovating his flat cuz he'll soon be moving to another one.
Guess what, in all that mess i desperately tried to find my cat! Can you help me?

I already miss me kitty...

Castle fest

Hi there!

Long time no entry, so i think i'll have to change that now!
Due to the hot weather and the Whitsun-holidays we thought we should go in the country and see what's going on. We found, that the annual castle fest at the castle of Tittmoning in Bavaria is taking place this weekend and so we went there!

There were many many people dressed in precious garment, some like medieval knights, some like medieval nobles etc. And - much to my delight - there were many bands playing bagpipes and men jumping around in short kilts, hmmm yummie!

There were also many little attractions like the one in the picture below for little kids:

... and beautiful men all around:

...but this one is mine mine mine! ;P

Studies

At the moment i've got a lot of work to do for my studies, mostly for psychology but also for european ethnology. most of them are term papers for seminars and exams which i need to complete my first section of the studies. so i am quite anxious to make things meet O;)

RockYou FunNote
so if you're already wondering where i could be or why i don't answer any emails or letters: i am studying! believe it or not, even being a student means a lot of stress!
...and i am already looking forward to my holidays which will start by 29th june. i keep counting the days...

Ready... steady... go!

Well, i'm in a great haste at the moment, so i scarcely have time to post an entry - and i feel really sorry about that ;/ possibly i'm already addicted to my blog, haha!
but since there are people who.. well, almost force me to write something, i think i should tell you a bit about what's going on in my life (satisfied Vero?)

Last monday i bought a new bike!

yeah, and it's not only a "Fahrrad", but it's a real b i k e! i absolutely fell in love with it when i rode it for the first time - and it's got my favourite colours green and lilac =^+^=

the fact is that i had to give up my old bike - which was a rather cheap version of a mountain bike - due to defective brakes. and one doesn't want to risk his life when riding in an infernal speed through the city. yes, believe it or not: city biking is more difficult and more dangerous than you might imagine. cars and pedestrians are NOT biker's friends - but this tends to be mutual...

Beautiful sky

In the beginning I felt we were living
I felt so alive
under beautiful skies
Oh tonight slip in and out of life

Yet feeling so alive

Lost in the sea of light

Oh no please don't let me go
no please
don't leave me here
to grieve innocent times
Reamonn "Beautiful Sky"

Since we have such a beautiful weather last time here in Tyrol, we had of course to make use of it and go for a ride on our bikes.

Birds were singing in the trees, the happy sun was shining in a marvelleous blue sky, it was finally warm again, our heart were jumping with joy... spring, spring, spring! yeah!

i think these two pictures - the one above and the one below - are very akin!

Springfever

The month of May was come,
when every lusty heart beginneth to blossom,
and to bring forth fruit;
for like as herbs and trees bring forth fruit and flourish in May,
in likewise every lusty heart that is in any manner a lover,
springeth and flourisheth in lusty deeds.
For it giveth unto all lovers courage,
that lusty month of May.

Sitting in the sun

"And if you feel that you can't go on. And your will's sinkin' low
Just believe and you can't go wrong.
In the light you will find the road. You will find the road"
(In the light, Led Zeppelin)

Well, well! I'm so glad, that the days are getting brighter and warmer. People - like me - are sitting in the sun, enjoying its warmth. And did you notice that people's mood is much better now than it was when it was cold?

Here's a little insider-gag to improve your mood (if it isn't good yet!):

Time for a riddle

Pssst! This time i have sort of riddle for you. "A riddle, a riddle", some of you may shout. Well, let's see if you can make out where i stranded this time ;)

You see, i met with a hardly vested gentleman - ok this is the point where Vero is not allowed to guess anymore! =^+^=

Eh, i felt like a queen there - but damn, where is my crown and my royal household?!

all right, here he is: my king! (of my heart)

Isn't this a view for a king? - Or rather for a queen since it's the "Fraueninsel" and this means Lady's Island ;)

...And should you not already have figured out, where in the world this lovely place is, check this out: about Chiemsee

My new pet

Since last time my friend Vero gave me an Aquapet as a present, which was at first sight only pink and annoying, it became my sweet pet since i do not have one here in Innsbruck cuz my cat lives with my father in Salzburg. I named her "Lola". And to be true these toys are a real waste of time - but lovely anyhow.

Now i found, that one can creat one's own Aquapet online. Which i did of course and (to Vero), doesn't it look like Otto? *ggg*

Btw: he's a great fan of Beethoven *OMG*

Poetry for you

( Words and music by Juan Carlos Calderón)

(Translation:)
Like a promise, you are, you are
Like a summer morning
Like a smile, you are, you are
Like that, like that, you are
All my hope, you are, you are
Like fresh rain in my hands
Like a strong breeze, you are, you are; like that, like that, you are

You are like the water of my fountain (something like that, you are)
You are the fire of my fireplace
You are like the fire of my bonfire
You are the wheat of my bread

Like my poem, you are, you are
Like a guitar in the night
My whole horizon you are, you are; like that, like that, you are

You are...

Get to France

As you might already guess from the title, we made a little trip to France! First we spent two nights in Paris (no, NOT one night in Paris, what a pitty!)

by the banks of the Seine at night:

Notre Dame:

Birds are evil:

already preparing for retirement:

funny person watching the traffic in Montmatre. i couldn't actually find out what he was doing exactly - besides reading the newspaper... if you have a hint for me, tell me ;)

the interior of our hotel in Montmatre, next to Moulin Rouge. it looked a bit like a maison de plaisir and our tiny room had a huge mirror right next to the bed... *ggg*

one of the mills in Montmatre:

Montmatre:

an ad in a metro station for some coffee. it was so funny that i had to buy it. guess what, it works - at least, i do NOT look like that guy after drinking it, hehe!

the Eiffel tower and me (in memoriam of my bonnet, which i lost in Rennes...)

have a break, have a biiig break... after all we're here for holidays and not for fun:

the cathedral of Saint Malo, Brittany!

a breizh arrangement ;)

the port of Saint Malo:

the quai at low tide:

due to the warm weather we even fancied taking a bath at the outdoor swimming pool:

view from the castle to Saint Malo intra muros:

taking a rest in the sun (listening to breizh music):

there's three french words, i will remember for all my life: "La mer mont!"

...this means "the sea is rising!" if you ever happen to hear this, get yourself immediately to the main land, or you will become very wet or even drown...

me in the morning (very tired) at high tide:

the medieval city of Rennes:

the cathedral of Rennes:
the clouds over Paris in the evening:

bye-bye and au-revoir France!
